This year's theme is "An Odyssey through Indonesia's Cinematic Renaissance," which insinuates the ongoing journey of Indonesia's cinematic evolution. This theme reflects upon Indonesia's ceaselessly-evolving cinematic industry, embodying our goal of honoring our historical roots while championing new cinematic perspectives.
With this theme, the 19th Indonesian Film Festival invites you to embark on a journey through Indonesia's ever-evolving cinematic landscape. From the rich and vibrant narratives of the past to the fresh and bold voices that champion the future, we celebrate a visual tapestry that continually progresses and reinvents itself.
First established in 2006, Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) is the most prominent celebration of Indonesian cinema in Australia.
Our organisation aims to foster appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia while also raising international awareness of the burgeoning Indonesian film culture.
The 19th IFF will showcase a diverse range of commercial and art house cinema from Indonesia, a country often known for its striking natural beauty and rich cultural diversity and heritage that has been passed down through generations. Our 19th year of operation will continue to be dedicated towards the international exposure of Indonesian cinema and the cultural values within it.
